How to translate a WhatsApp voice note

  1. Get the file. On WhatsApp Web or Desktop, hover the voice message, click the chevron (⌄) and choose Download. On Android it's already at Internal storage → WhatsApp → Media → WhatsApp Voice Notes; on iPhone, tap and hold → Forward → share to yourself.
  2. Pick your language in the dropdown above.
  3. Drop the file in. You get the original transcript and the translation together, in a few seconds.

Why not just use WhatsApp's built-in feature?

Because WhatsApp does not translate voice notes at all. Its built-in Voice Message Transcripts only turns speech into text in the original language — and only in the mobile app, in about five languages on Android. Translating that text is a separate step it doesn't do. This tool does both in one pass, on any device.

If a supplier sends a voice note in Arabic and you read English, WhatsApp's transcript gives you Arabic text you still can't read. This tool gives you the English.
