Who we are
Voqua is operated by Tech & Sols. Voqua has two parts: a Chrome extension that translates inside WhatsApp Web, and a web app at voqua.app for translated voice replies and live translated calls. For any privacy question, contact us at haroonbutt2002@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details — if you sign in (email or Google via Supabase Auth), we store your email address to identify your account, your plan, and your saved call history.
- Anonymized device identifier — the extension generates a random UUID on install, hashed with SHA-256 before it reaches us, used to enforce free-tier rate limits.
- Usage counters — daily counts of translations, voice notes, voice replies, and call minutes, used to apply plan limits.
- Call transcripts — when you make a translated call while signed in, we save a text transcript (what each side said, plus the translation) to your account history so you can review it and get a summary. We also store the contact name you launched the call from to organize your history. We do not store the raw call audio.
- Cloned voice — if you set up voice replies in your own voice, you record a short sample. It is sent to our voice provider (ElevenLabs) to build your voice; we store a reference ID and status. This lets Voqua speak in your voice. Only you may clone your own voice, and you can delete it anytime.
- Billing — payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record). We store your plan tier keyed by your email; we never see or store card details.
What we do NOT store
- Chat & voice-note content — text and audio sent for WhatsApp translation are processed and immediately discarded. They are never logged, saved to a database, or used to train AI models.
- Raw call audio — live calls are transcribed and translated in real time; we store the resulting text transcript only (for signed-in hosts), never a recording of the audio.
- Card details — handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.
Live calls: transcription & consent
Translated calls are transcribed and translated in real time so both sides can be understood. Before anyone joins a call, the join screen discloses that the call is translated and a transcript is saved for the host. Raw audio is not recorded. The host can delete a call transcript, or their entire history, at any time.
Voice cloning
If you enable voice replies in your own voice, your recorded sample is processed by ElevenLabs to create a voice model tied to your account. Your voice is used only to speak your own translated messages and calls. You must have the right to the voice you record (i.e. your own). You can delete your cloned voice at any time from the web app, which removes it from our systems and our voice provider.
How AI processing works
Content is sent over HTTPS to our servers (hosted on Vercel) and forwarded to specialized providers to perform the task, then returned to you:
- Google Gemini — translation and voice-note transcription.
- Deepgram — real-time speech-to-text on calls.
- Cartesia, Azure, and ElevenLabs — text-to-speech and (ElevenLabs) voice cloning.
- LiveKit — real-time audio/video transport for calls.
These providers process the data only to deliver the feature and under their own terms; they are not permitted to use it to train their models without consent.
Cookies and local storage
The extension stores settings, counters, and preferences in chrome.storage.local (browser-local). The web app stores your sign-in session locally in your browser. We do not set third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention
- Usage counters: retained short-term to enforce daily/monthly limits, then rotated.
- Account, plan, and cloned-voice reference: kept while your account is active; removed on deletion.
- Call transcripts: kept in your history until you delete them or your plan's retention limit applies. No message content from chat/voice-note translation is retained at any point.
